At times, a young person may feel disconnected from their family, isolated from their community, or disengaged at school, leaving them feeling alone and misunderstood. Procare works with young people to understand these feelings and learn ways to approach any challenges life may bring. We offer support programs for young people, which aim to change their perspective and have a new look at life. Our programs support young people at risk of:
- Disconnection from family, community, or support networks
- Disengagement with school, training, and/or employment
- Drug and alcohol misuse
Our youth workers aim to support young people by encouraging positive connections and communications with family, friends, and the community
Individual Support
Understanding the issues faced by Participants, such as depression, anxiety, being isolated etc., and helping them overcome those. Instilling confidence and providing means to help them come out of their shell and reclaim their lives.
Tailored Youth Development Activities
Empowering youth to reach their maximum potential and pursue their specific area of interest for a better future. Helping them continue their education, training, or acquirement of new skills that may shape their future and help them grow career-wise.
Drug & Alcohol Program
We provide support to overcome drug addiction and alcoholism to enable the youth to get back on track, live a purposeful and positive life. We provide drug and alcohol counseling and awareness education to schools and the local community.
Multi-Cultural Youth Program
We provide personalized support from a youth worker for multicultural youths who may be facing specific hurdles in their lives and need one-on-one support to overcome them. Group outings and social opportunities help young people from multicultural backgrounds connect with others in similar situations, supporting communal growth and development
Community Participation
We work towards a society where all young people are valued, engaged, and supported. We develop programs to encourage them to open up, have fun and enjoy life and participate in activities that may strengthen their communal ties.
Advocacy
Provide proactive leadership and advocacy and shape the agenda on issues affecting young people and youth services.
Procare is a community-based youth service that works alongside young people aged eight to 21 to support their hopes and ambitions.
